GUIDELINES FOR A SUCCESSFUL RUMMAGE SALE
March 20th, 2004
8:00AM - 3:00PM
- Items that are clean sell faster and at higher prices. Please clean off dust, dirt, cobwebs, etc. from items for sale. If an item is attractive, we will be able to command a higher price for you/your student.
- If the item is not easily recognizable, attach a note explaining its use.
- Assembled items sell MUCH better than things that are in pieces. If you can assemble the item(s) at the beginning of the sale, that would help a lot.
- Help the sale workers…..If an item is meant to be valuable for "parts" or because it can be repaired, put a tag on it that says it "needs repair", "needs batteries" or something like that. If something appears used, but works well, tag it with "works fine" so it’s clear to those selling the items. Please make sure that games have all playing pieces or note that pieces are missing. Workers won’t have time to be checking & testing.
- Tag all items with student’s name; please write clearly. We will remove tags as items are sold. Untagged items will be credited to the instrumental music program general fund.
Donate stuff – and lots of it!!! Check out other donations! Let’s have fun!!!
