CVHS Zuma Beach Trip
When: Saturday August 27, 2005
Where: Zuma Beach (meet at CVHS first)
Who: Marching Band, Drum Line, Colorguard
What: Relaxing Beach trip to break up an intense Band Camp
Report Time: 9:00 a.m. at CVHS
Dismiss Time: 4:00 p.m. (we will leave Zuma around 3:00 p.m.)
What to bring & wear:
Beach gear!!! (Frisbee, volleyball, football, boogie board, etc.) Bathing Suit, Suntan lotion, blanket, lunch, $$
Misc: This is a great time to relax with your newly made friends and enjoy a day at the beach.  We will need some parent volunteers to
help drive kids to the beach.

Band Camp Concert 
When: Friday, September 2, 2005
Where: Football field at CVHS 
Who: Marching Band, Drumline, Colorguard
What: Performance of "Gladiators!" for our parents 
Report Time: 6:00 p.m.
Perform Time: 6:30 p.m.
Dismiss Time: 7:00 p.m.
What to bring & wear: CVHS Band Shirts
Misc: Please make every effort to get your parents to attend this concert. It's a great way to show them how much we've learned in Band Camp.  We also make an attempt to recognize hard working band members with tokens of appreciation.


Band Camp Pool Party 
When: Friday, September 2, 2005
Where: 4708 Briggs Ave., La Crescenta
Who:  Marching Band, Drumline, Colorguard
What: End of Band Camp party / end of summer party 
Report Time: 7:00 p.m.
Dismiss Time: 10:00 p.m.
What to bring & wear:
casual clothes, bathing suits and towels.
Misc: It's a party to celebrate our hard work during Band Camp and the last "Hurrah" before school starts. Go and have a great time!


School Starts

What: It's the first day of the new School year!! New classes!! New friends!!
What to bring & wear:
School clothes, pencils, stuff!! Zero Period WILL meet.


Football vs Thousand Oaks - Home
When:  Friday, September 9, 2005

What: We will perform pep songs in the stands and our field show during half-time to support our football team and entertain the audience.

Misc: Click on the address above for directions. This is our first home game. We will meet at CVHS to load the buses and trucks, then drive down to GHS. We are responsible for the Star Spangled Banner and half-time.

Parent Meeting - September
When: Tuesday September 13, 2005
Where: Instrumental Music Room (3102)
Who: All Parents 
What: First meeting of the year. Meet the booster parents and learn how you can support your instrumental music program.
Report Time: 7:00 p.m.
Dismiss Time: 8:00 p.m.
Misc: This is a very important opportunity to learn how you can get involved in CV's growing and expanding music program. We will discuss future dates, chaperoning opportunities and needs.


Ensemble Concert I Sign-ups
When: Wednesday, September 14, 2005
Where: Instrumental Music Room (3106)
Who: Symphony and any students wishing extra credit can try out to perform in the Ensemble Concert.
What: Every year, the Instrumental Music Department gives two wonderful Ensemble Concerts. Students perform ensembles of duets, trios, quartets, or any size combination with partners and pieces that they choose. 
This concert is mandatory for students enrolled in Symphony Orchestra. 
Other students may try out if they would like the experience and extra credit. 
Not all students who sign-up are guaranteed to perform.  Only the most qualified groups will be allowed to perform.
There are three "try-out" dates(10/5,10/19,11/9) where groups will play only 30 seconds of their piece.  If they are not enrolled in Symphony Orchestra, groups must make an appointment with Mr. Schick to play for them during lunch, snack or after school.
Misc: Mr. Schick will have a sign-up sheet starting on 9/14.  Groups have until 9/21 to make their final decision.  After 9/21, any changes to their pieces or partners will result in a loss of points.  Each change after the first will result in more points lost.

What: No changes will be made to ensemble pieces or groups. Changes will only be made with an understood loss of points.
Misc: This is a wonderful opportunity to perform fabulous music in an beautiful setting.  Stick with the piece you choose and work to make your performance enjoyable.


Back to School Night - Performance
When: Tuesday September 22, 2005
Where: CVHS Band Room, Quad
Who: Marching Band, Drumline, Colorguard 
What: Performing School Fight Song and Pep Songs for parents
Report Time: 5:30 p.m.

Misc: This is an important event with a potential audience of 2,700 parents, students , teachers and administration.

Football Game Information
Home Game | Away Games

All Home Football Games are played at:

Students are bussed to every home game.  Please refer to the detailed information regarding specific times for a specific event.

What to Bring & Wear to
Home Football Games:
● Marching Band T-shirt
● Marching Shoes
● White socks
● Gloves
● Instrument
● Music / Lyre / Flip Folder
● Cash for concessions (3rd quarter treats will be provided by the boosters)

DON'T FORGET. You must have your complete uniform or you will be able to perform and your grade will suffer. A fine will be incurred if equipment is lost.

Uniform Etiquette:
Always keep your uniform clean and with you.  Do NOT leave your Jacket, sash or hat on the floor (grass or pavement).  If you must take off your Jacket, it needs to be hung neatly.
The hat boxes are not chairs.
You are responsible for all cleaning and repairing costs which are a result of negligence.

There will be a 3rd quarter break for the band during home and away football games where band members may get refreshments. No eating "messy" foods (i.e. nachos, chili, etc) while in uniform.  

Away Football Game Information
